Ramalina sp.  Chem : K+ rouge, P+ jaune.

Synonyms:

Family: RAMALINACEAE

Habitat: Xeric supralittoral  zone

Description

This form is characterized by its occuring to the top of large coastal rocks, subjected to sea winds and spray, it forms a dense tuft of upright branches from a common base, these branches are often very divided especially at their ends which are sometimes digitate, they also present numerous soralia more or less prominent but poorly defined in terms of their shape, warty, flattened, etc. the coloring is greenish gray soralies and medulla: K + yellow then red, P + golden yellow. NB It seems that this form, collected at the Pointe de Dinan is an avatar of Ramalina siliquosa s.l.. Cf. Ramalina portuensis which comes in the same habitat and which has the same chemical reactions but whose soralia come from cracks in the cortex and not prominent, see also Ramalina farinacea var. reagens very similar but which comes on the bark of the trees and which does not have branches very divided and lacerated and digitate.
