Micarea lignaria var. endoleuca (Leight.) Coppins
This variety differs from the type by its oceanic tendencies, its coarsely warty thallus often tinged with yellowish and especially its chemical reactions: C + orange (weak and fleeting reaction on the yellowish parts), KC + red-orange, K-, P-. Spores 3-7 septate, 17-30 x 5-7 (8) µm according to our measurements. It grows on moist soils rich in woody debris of heather moors or towards the base of mossy, humid acid rocks of oceanic forests where it is only well developed and clearly visible in winter.
NB Reported as very rare in France which does not seem to be the case in Finistère where it can exist in large colonies in the heathlands of the very exposed Caps and the heathlands of oceanic forests where it has probably been confused, for lack of microscopic examination. and to practice colored chemical reactions, with Bilimbia sabuletorum or Bacidia bagliettoana when it came to the ground.
