Thallus crustose 5-15 cm, quite thin and a little glassy at first, then thickening, white, greyish-white, cream-white, covered with punctate soralia 1-2 mm in diameter, at first isolated and scattered then confluent and covering large areas of the thallus, concolorous or creamy, cream-pink. Apothecia and pycnidia unknown. Photobiont: Trentepohlia. C-, K- or K +/- yellow (Trentepohlia?), KC- or KC +/- yellow (Trentepohlia?), P + bright orange, UV+/- gray-orange, K/UV- if wet, pale blue if dry. Rather rare species occurring on the drier parts of the bark of deciduous trees in oceanic forests, mainly Quercus.
N.B. Neighbor of Schismatomma quercicola also P + orange but with more brownish thallus and scattered soralia.
