This form is quite common on mineral soils at the foot of rocks in the aerohaline heathlands at the top of very windy cliffs. It is in the form of large globular cushions reminiscent of a hedgehog, formed of numerous tight and erect branches of gray-greenish color in youth, then the ends becoming brown to brown-purple with age, the whole takes on a gray-brownish color. C-, K- or K+/- yellow, KC- or K+/- yellow, P + yellow then not very bright red-orange, UV-, K/UV+ yellow.
