Lepra monogona forme sur surface rocheuse horizontale.
Thallus relatively thick, strongly cracked and aerolate, with large fertile warts, domed and more or less flattened at the top, containing several apothecia, grey-whitish, hypothallus discreet, co-coloured. Apothecia numerous, at the beginning completely immersed in the thallus, then (for some) a little raised, irregularly shaped disc, flat, blackish, margin a little raised at the end, whitish; the disc is typically covered (at least initially) by a whitish pruinose "veil". Asci with 1 spore. Relatively thin-walled ovoid ascospores, 100-300 x 50-100 µm. Thallus: C-, K+ yellow then red, KC+ yellow-reddish, P+ yellow-orange. Taxon found on the horizontal surfaces of granite rocks in the aerohaline zone.
