Cladonia subulata var. radiata (Schreb.) Ozenda & Clauzade
Primary thallus evanescent, made of small rounded squamules, crenulate apices, green-blue. Podetia erected, thin, slender, 4-6 cm tall, seldom corticate or only towards the base, farinose and sorediate, grey-greenish, grey-yellow, greenish sometimes tinged brownish; the radiata variety differs from Cladonia subulata by the small scyphi of which the margins displays furcate pointed apices antler-like. Apothecia rare, at apices of podetia, dark brown. Photobiont : trebouxioide. Thallus : C-, K-, KC-, Pd+ dark red. Rare or understated, on sandy heathlands.*
