Description

    Thallus foliose, appressed on the substratum, 5-10 cm diam., potentially larger through confluence of several conspecific thalli, composed of very numerous narrow lobes, 2-3 mm wide, more or less erect, indented, overlapping up to the margin which is more distinct and less lobate, lobes covered with minute secondary folioles, producing a dense tuft overall aspect, upper surface smooth, green-, brown-green, green-olivaceous when moist, grey-brownish when dry; lower surface cream to pale brown with simple and pale rhizines. Apothecia unknown in our prospection area. Photobiont: trebouxioid. Chemical spot tests negative. Rare and localized, on main branches and trunks of deciduous trees, very seldom on rocks.*
