Teloschistes flavicans (Sw.) Norman forme ramicole.
This morph differs from the canonical type by its habitat, in the canopy of old trees in oceanic woodlands and forests, hardly ever on trunks toether with other lichens. Differs also by its branches, spindly, yellow-greenish (not bright orange all over, like Teloschistes flavicans that grows on coastal rocks) and by the numerous verrucose, nodulous soralia. Cling to other lichens at the top of higher branches well exposed to winds and sun and consequently hardly visible from the ground. Only visible on fallen branches after strong storms or on chopped down trees. Seems under decline in this habitat as well as on rocks near the seashore.
