Caloplaca ceracea forma
We present here, with usual restrictions, what may be a Caloplaca ceracea morph. All intermediate forms may be found. Thallus thick, celadon, almond green, green-yellow. Apothecia numerous, disc brown-orange, brown-olive, exciple more or less wavy, golden yellow. Ascii 8-spored, 70-80 x 20-30 µm. Ascospores polarilocular, (12) 13-16 (17) x 7-10 (11) µm according to our measures. This taxon (currently under investigantion) typically grows near the seashore on slightly alkaline or neutral humid rocks, or on mortar joining stones of old walls in areas little exposed to direct sun.
