Peltigera lepidophora (Vain.) Bitter
Thallus lfoliose, 5-12 cm in diameter, formed of large lobes, 1-2 cm wide and 2-4 cm long, with rounded and upright ends, upper surface smooth and slightly tomentose, brownish, gray-brownish in weather dry, olive-brown in humid weather, covered in places with peltate isidia giving the impression of being covered with confetti; underside whitish with numerous simple or brush rhizines of light greyish-brown coloring darker at the ends. Not known fertile in France. Species with Nostoc. No significant chemical reactions. Mountain species coming to the soil on stony and mossy soils not (or little) calcareous.
