Francisrosea bicolor Ertz & Sanderson Cf.

Francisrosea bicolor Ertz & Sanderson Cf.

Synonyms:

Family: GYALECTACEAE

Habitat: Oceanic zone

Description

Thallus immersed in the bark and barely visible, covered with soralia, at first punctiform then rounded or oval, never becoming continuous (or then rarely by 1-3 at most), orange, ocher-orange, dark ocher in surface and typically pale green below. Apothecia unknown. C-, K-, KC-, P-. Species growing in cracks in the bark of deciduous trees. Rare and still poorly known species because it can only be identified with certainty by sequencing, this sequencing not having been carried out, we present it here with the usual reservations.

N.B. This species was only recently isolated from Thelopsis corticola. It is not possible, with certainty, to separate Francisrosea bicolor from the sterile forms of Thelopsis corticola in the field.
