Lecanora strobilina forme sur cône de conifère.
Despite its name, Lecanora strobilina does not always occur on the scales of conifer cones, and this form is rather rare (as is its specific habitat!). It is a miniature form adapted to its substrate. Classic colorimetric chemical reactions are difficult to perform, except under a binocular microscope, and spore size must often be checked under a microscope to differentiate this species from other related species that may accompany it on this type of substrate. Spores are long-elliptical (7) 9-12 x 3-4 µm according to our measurements. C-, K+/- yellow, K/C+/- yellow, P-, UV+ pale orange.
N.B. Watch out for Lecanora confusa C+ orange whose apothecia are less sessile with a more crenate margin and whose spores are a little wider and for Lecanora symmicta whose apothecia are without margin and which is C+ orange.
