Description
Fruticose thallus arranged in a small upright or hanging bush, formed of branches starting from a basal disk, flattened branches and in strips with rare linear pseudocyphellae, these pale yellowish-grey branches are strongly divided at the ends and at the margin by hook-shaped outgrowths ending in small globular nodules.
Species generally sterile or with very rare apothecia.
Medulla: C-, K+ red, KC+/- reddish, P+ red.
Saxicolous species coming on rocks, mainly volcanic and vertical.
_ This species belongs to the group of
Ramalina decipiens
and is very close to
Ramalina crispatula
which is generally fertile.
