This saxicolous form is rarely found on dry, non-wet rocks in oceanic forests, always near the corticolous form of Thelotrema lepadinum. The fertile warts are very prominent and deformed and the thallus inconspicious. C-, K+ pale yellow-orange, KC+ pale yellow-orange, P+ pale yellow-orange.
