Description
Foliose thallus formed of narrow, very cut, radiating lobes, 0.6-0.9 mm wide, no cilia at the margin, no soredia or isidia.
Upper surface of very pale colorations: grayish, ochraceous, ... and typically "dove-like"!
Lower surface very pale, whitish, ... with simple or fasciculated rhizines.
Sterile taxon.
C-, K-, KC-, P-.
Mediterranean taxon coming on rocks or the base of trees at the edge of the sea.
_ Very poorly known taxon, intermediate between
Anaptychia runcinata
(saxicolous) and
Anaptychia palmulata
(corticolous) which are two fertile species.
N.B. Perhaps
Anaptychia runcinata
parasitized or infected (virus?) or suffering as seems to be shown by the photographs of intermediate taxa taken on the same block of rocks of the Ile du Levant (Var).
