Lobarina scrobiculata (Scop.) Nyl. ex Cromb.
Thallus foliose, to 20 cm across, lobes to 5-10 cm long and 1-3 cm wide, margins rounded, upper surface embossed and ridged up to forming small shallow depressions, green-yellowish when moist, grey-bluish when dry, with isidioid blue-grey soralia, globose or aligned, notably towards the margin, potentially spreading to the entire lobe surface; lower surface cream to brownish very pale towards the margin, darker towards the center with minute white spots cyphella-like (possible confusion with Sticta), thallus attached to the substratum at the center. Apothecia very rare, 1-3 mm diam., disc brown-red, exciple more or less sorediate. Ascospores fusiform, 1-3-septate, 18-23 x 4-7 µm. Thallus photobiont: Nostoc. Medulla : C-, K+ yellow, KC+ pink-orange, Pd+ orange. Rare, under decline, on mossy trees in old humid oceanic woodlands*.
