Tuckermanopsis chlorophylla (Willd.) Hale
Thallus foliose, 2-5 cm max. length, made of lobes 1-3 cm long and 0.5-1 cm wide, thin and translucent, loosely attached to substratum and erected; margin wavy, incised with soralifer isidia producing labriform marginal soredia (these soredia are seldom laminal), upper surface brown-greenish, olivaceous to brownish when dry, greenish when moist, lower surface cream-greenish to pale brown with some whitish rhizines. Apothecia scarce, 1-2 mm diam., crenulate margin. Ascospores globose, 6-8 x 4-6 µm. Photobiont : Trebouxia. Chemical spot tests negative. On bark of trunks and main branches of well lit trees preferably in mountainous regions, very seldom on rocks.
