Xanthoparmelia pulla forma
This morph differs from the Xanthoparmelia pulla canonical type by its peculiar aspect: thallus tightly appressed to the substratum, composed of lobes, folded and 'macaroni-shaped', vermicular, with a huge number of aborted small apothecia, immersed, exciple distinct, projecting, giving, to the naked eyes, a pustulous and perforate aspect to the thallus. Typically on iron-rich rocks highly exposed to seaspray in the xeric supralittoral zone. N.B. Intermediate specimen between this morph and the canonical type may be found (see pictures).
