Xanthoria parietina forme lignicole des épaves en bois.
This form, bright orange when well-lit and grey-yellow-greenish when shaded, thrives on bare or painted wood pieces in the coastal zone and notably on wood ship wrecks. Characterized by it huge variability resulting probably from the very specific properties of the substrata usually covered by eroded ancient toxic antifouling paints (containing lead, cupper, mercury, tin, etc...) and more or less coated by dust and silt that normally would prevent the development of any living organism.
