Lecidea lithophila forme saxicole des pierres des chemins
This very common form differs from the type by its habitat: stones and pebbles of humid pathways. Thallus thin, usually ochreish to rusty (allowing an easy detection on the ground), apothecia sessile, well developed, disc flat, exciple thin, distinct. Most often found associated with Rhizocarpon reductum on moist soils surrounding stones or pebbles and with Dibaeis baeomyces. The latter usually has sterile thalli and round white-pink schizidia.
